In March 2008, Glasgow FUMC opened their new Family Life Center for use to all members of the church. This is part of a multi-phase project to help the church grow in its mission to the community. A big thank you goes out to all of the people who put their time, talents, efforts and gifts into making this dream a reality. Most of all, we as a church thank God for making this all possible.

Please see the policy below for use of the building.

Church/Church Groups Building Use Policy

Purpose

           The buildings, contents, and materials of Glasgow First United Methodist Church’s Family Life Center were created by the efforts and gifts of individuals within the life of our congregation.  The Family Life Center was erected to the glory of God; therefore, the use should be governed by and used for the growth, outreach, and maintenance of the ministries of our church.

Policy for Building/Content Use:

  1. Building Use Policy is set by the Board of Trustees and may be amended by them.
  2. There will be no charge for use of the building for church sponsored activities, unless staff time is required for set up and/or clean up.
  3. Priority for Building Use will be as follows:
    1. Ongoing, direct ministries—Sunday School classes, UMW, Grief Ministry, Kids Hope, etc;
    2. New and extension ministries;
    3. Dinners, banquets, receptions for congregations
  4. Requests for the use of the facility must be made to the Church Office by the use of a facility rental/usage request form. Approval of dates and times should be secured at least 30 days prior to the activity.  Church office will determine if there are open dates.  In the event of a funeral, the church reserves the right to cancel all prior requests.
  5. Advance continuous scheduling of the facility (i.e. weekly, bi-weekly, etc) will not be permitted unless it is a direct or ongoing ministry of the church as approved by the Board of Trustees.
  6. Requests for facility use inside the 30 day requirement will be considered based on availability.
  7. It is the responsibility of the scheduling party to obtain a key during church office hours.
  8. Sound system/AV equipment should only be handled by qualified personnel approved by the church.
  9. The church will not be responsible for lost or stolen items, nor will it assume liability for injury to anyone.
